This will be an open group for adults who are struggling with a loss from this previous year or two, although the group may not be suited for those facing a very recent loss. The first holiday season after a major loss of a loved one can bring up strong feelings of grief and of missing that person, or of struggling with carrying on traditions without them.
This group will meet to share some of our stories, and learn some new calming and centering practices that can be used throughout the holidays. A small art project around honoring our loved ones’ legacies will be incorporated.
Intentions of this group:
Brainstorm and create new holiday traditions that help commemorate our loved ones’ memories
Come together with a group of like-minded individuals, as a small break from being with others who are still very excited about the holidays (a draining situation for those experiencing grief and loss)
Experience time for quiet art-making and short meditations that can help us through the end of year celebrations
Fee: Pay what you can
No. of participants: 10 maximum
Initial intake requirement: No, adult clients can self-refer as struggling with upcoming holidays due to loss of a loved one
